Not too late

At a short notice Lord Pearson has been asked to be interviewed on today's World at One on the subject of the proposed French ban on the burqua in public.

  1. Was it broadcast? I could not find it.

  2. Another example of a 'gutless government'. Take a leaf out of the French Book and do something positive, apart from attack bus passes! Why are MP's spineless? No burka ban in Britain

  3. Damian Green, what a toothless joke you are. No burkha ban you say, despite more than two-thirds of the country - the overwhelming majority of the British public - in favour. The consequences of one, we are told, would be 'undesirable.' Yeah? Well how much more 'desirable' is what your & the previous Govt's craven appeasement of these Islamist thugs & their viciously regressive culture that leads to 'honour' killings, inbreeding, genital mutilation of girls, Islamist infiltration into town councils, police services & terrorist plots concocted & tacitly supported by Muslims the length & breadth of this country, has led to?

As ever this spineless, gutless coalition conforms to everyone's worst fears - they have no teeth, no balls. We can't deport them yet even control orders have been outlawed! What are we supposed to do - use harsh language! The Islamists & their supporters in the 'Human Rights' movement, the NGO's, the judiciary & the left-wing press/establishment must be very pleased with themselves. Very Pleased Indeed. Perhaps they shouldn't be. I sometimes wonder how much more the public can take as they see the values of their country abandoned & sold out. The general public hate politicians, loathe the police & all the while Islamism & unfettered immigration continue not just to fester but to grow. Sooner or later there'll be a reckoning.

  4. We should allow the burka to stay so as to allow the Indigenous population to see with their own eyes how deep and large militant islam is in Britain today.

  6. Philip Hollobone has been threatened with legal action. I knew this would happen.

People think "well, I can just refuse to deal with anybody wearing a burkha" but if the burkha wearer calls the Police you end up being charged with discrimination. There was a news story the other day about a bus driver getting into trouble for refusing to carry a burkha wearer.

I can't help but think that Silly Kuffar is right. Allow the burkha to stay because its proliferation would cause people to start asking the awkward questions they need to start asking.

But this is a rhetorical point because we aren't going to be given a say on this issue anyway. It will be interesting whether the media headlines on this matter might have registered with the public and they start saying to themselves "why don't we get a vote on it?"

  7. It is those wearing burkhas who are making life difficult for themselves. No matter what the law says they will never become a part of British society. They have set themselves apart and will be ignored by the majority. I would not have an outright ban, but they must remove it for identification purposes and when in face to face interviews if requested.
