New website

For those few who have not yet noticed, UKIP has a new website, less cluttered and easier to navigate. You can find UKIP candidates here and get in touch with them directly; the manifesto is here (though it is still a little hard to find) and the individual policies are here. The website is there for all to use.

  1. I am a UKIP voter, but in my area (Gillingham) the UKIP candidate has been very quiet. The vote that i make must go to the party which has the best chance here with regards to the Anti EU vote, here it is the English democrats, they are out campaigning everyday and have managed alot of support. I would recomend we do not split the vote. It must be an English Democrat here in gillingham. They have the best chance. I only say this because they are fighting for the same thing. I hope our ukip candidate sees he will be making things worse for us here.

  2. You can no longer reasonably expect patriotic voters to support the Tories, knowing that by doing so they might be helping Cameron to vindicate his policy of abject surrender to the EU and thereby giving the process of our national betrayal a fresh lease of life..What we need now is a party which offers what people seem to want, and for me that it UKIP

  3. Agreed with Anon above. I think all the 'main' parties are as bad as each other. There's nothing being offered by any of them that persuades me I'm going to see much needed, substantive changes to the way this country is run if I give them my vote. By contrast UKIP's manifesto could (almost) have been written by myself!

  4. Setting people free to run their own lives is not on any party's agenda, except for UKIP,their vision and core beliefs are to bring freedom to the individual and nation, which would include withdrawal from the EU and repealing ruinous Human Rights Act and rolling back the state. Many Tory voters continue to hang on to the notion that once in power Dave Cameron would suddenly get tough with the EU, and somehow achieve reform from within. In reality, of course, he would roll over completely to the EU. I will vote for UKIP - I'll be supporting what I believe in - it's as simple as that.

  5. Muched improved and looks more mature for a political party.

  6. Like the new site but I couldn't find any forums? Just as the radio necessitated leaders developing a sitting room style of presentation, more personal than public oratory/debate, so now surely internet politics requires politicians to take part in forums like an ongoing 'MPs surgery'. I'll help with the geekery.

Also I would like an opinion as to how one can seriously call ER Sovereign in the light of the Lisbon Treaty. Should not continued membership of the EU require abdication of the Sovereign?

  7. SandyRham,
Your comments and kind offer will be passed on to the website designers and techies.

As for the question on whether ER is Sovereign, UKIP, as you know, believes that the Lisbon Treaty was imposed undemocratically and, as a minimum, should be put up for a referendum. Therefore, it is reasonable to maintain that its requirements are also undemocratic and unconstitutional. Of course, in practical terms, we are part of the EU and have to obey its government, of which we are part. But the aim of a sovereign constitutional state with the monarch at the head of it remains and is worth fighting for.

  8. Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I believe that I do live in a Constitutional Monarchy and thus any treaties that limit the Sovereign's power as overruler in this Realm are perforce illegal and void, otherwise to whom are the Police and Judiciary sworn?
In the event of a referendum the position of the Monarchy will need discussing fairly urgently as will the oaths of loyalty from the Police, the Judiciary and the Armed and Secret Services.
